I was walking home from school. Aiden was walking beside me; his face was calm and content. A lone guardian, I thought. My guardian. We turned a corner to our house. It was a nice house, not too bad and not too fancy. It had two stories and brick walls, but it had a dead tree in the middle of the front yard.
